Name: Coyote Smith
Canon: Killer 7
Gender: Male
Age: Physically/Mentally he is 28 years old, but he's been "alive" as a psyche for over 60 years.
History:
Little is known about the original lives of the assassins before becoming Smiths. The farthest back we're shown in-game is his death at the Union Hotel, where he was gunned down by Emir Parkreiner (in his underwear, no less). It's theorized by fans that the reason he's in his underwear is that he and Kaede were bumpin' uglies during their involvement in the Smith Syndicate. [note: I'll be referring to the original group of assassins before Emir Parkreiner killed them as the Smith Syndicate, and to the seven killers with Garcian as the Killer7]
It has been mentioned in the Hand of Killer7, a book explaining the world and plot of the game in greater detail, that Coyote and Dan have a history of sorts. A history where before the Union Hotel incident, Coyote was shot to death by Dan, and found himself having to work with him after being resurrected by Harman Smith, the man who had an ability to revive the dead. It didn't mean he had to like it, and didn't mean he couldn't annoy the shit out of the ex-cop, either. Not like killing each other would do each other any good, except for maybe Harman bringing them back and perhaps threatening to leave them dead if they didn't grow the fuck up.
Like the others, Coyote had been resurrected for some reason by one of the many avatars of Harman, much to the surprise of some of the other members (Iwazaru seemed to be particularly displeased). The only one in the Smith syndicate that seemed to enjoy Coyote's company was Con, the young blind Chinese-American boy, who he considered as a younger brother. Coyote's rivalry with Dan seemed to fuel Con's already-present hate for Dan. Coyote approved. This is all before Emir killed him (Union Hotel), however, and was resurrected via absorption as an angry, blood-lusting spirit living within Emir/Garcian's subconscious.
Emir was reincarnated as Harman (the avatar, not the god- it's a complicated back story involving just Harman, "Young" Harman [another avatar of the god] and Emir), Garcian, and the rest of the Smith Syndicate as separate personalities with unique abilities.
His personal story seems to end here, however. Nothing more is really elaborated on as the story progresses in the game. He just harbors a grudge against Dan, gets along with Con still even if they cannot see each other face-to-face, picks locks, jumps high, and goes through the game like a good(???), obedient assassin. He's merely a tool to be used until he and the other five assassins are ultimately obliterated against the Black Smiles. Garcian survives.
Any other details are mentioned in the wiki.
Personality: Coyote is described by most as an angry and violent person. He's quick to take offense, and would probably punch a guy (or shoot him) than talk things out or even get into a screaming match. He's vengeful, holds fiery grudges against those who slight him, and has a hard time controlling his anger. He tries to keep it bottled up somehow, but he claims that he needs to either kill or violently maim his targets to relieve his anger. However, this isn't to say that he's not capable of kindness and compassion, either.
It's possible that he was raised in a bad neighborhood and that only harbored his anger, going through tough times and being involved with some Pretty Heavy Stuff. He's introduced as a thief, capable of picking a wide range of locks (just as long as they're not digital), and not afraid to break a few international treaties to get the modifications on his gun to his liking.
Because of this tough upbringing, he tends to keep a lot of his emotions of the softer variety hidden from the sight of potential enemies and strangers. There's a soft side to him for people he really cares about, but it's rare and only shows it in subtle ways. He doesn't trust anyone enough to see them aside from Con Smith, a kid that he treats as a younger brother, and if the theories of their relationship are correct, perhaps even Kaede. Even then, he's still trying to appear tough but they get along well enough so that's proof enough that he isn't just angry all the time. He also tends to show-off a little in front of kids, trying to be the bad-ass older brother figure like how he does with Con.
To people he's just met, if they remain friendly towards him and don't bring up any sore subjects, he'll react to them like any normal person would without screaming or striking them. He's a bit of a time-bomb, if anything, so it's easy to trigger him with very little, but he's capable of holding normal, cordial conversations if there's no attempt to fuck with him. It's usually just Dan (or people like him) that really sets him off if we're being honest here.
To elaborate further, he has a surprisingly normal side to him. He's never been very meticulous about his appearance and pretty much throws on whatever mismatched clothes he's got in his closet (or walk around naked in the privacy of his own room) and styles his pompadour a bit lazily, which causes little strands to stick out here and there. So it's safe to say that he can be lazy and a bit of a slob, like any normal guy. Unless you caught him at a bad time, then it's probably best to just back away from the Puerto Rican.
It's obvious that he has extreme anger issues, and feels that if he can't express himself violently, the anger will never go away. He's usually gleeful in the moment of the kill, always yelling satisfied "FUCK YOU"'s whenever someone or something dies by his hand/gun. So, he immediately resorts to killing or fighting to relieve stress and anger, which suited him fine within the Smith Syndicate. There's nothing specific that would ping his rage-dar, but try to use your best judgement when speaking with him. He'll probably find a way to get angry somehow. Mentioning Dan or how Dan killed him is a good way to piss him off, too.
When Coyote was a normal human being, before ever meeting Harman Smith, Dan had shot him dead. So, he harbors ill-intentions towards the man and sees him as a nemesis of sorts. After he was resurrected, one can only assume that he got into plenty of fights with Dan, but after being killed once more then absorbed, these feelings of anger (towards Dan, or anything, really) were mostly spent on Heaven Smiles since he could never face Dan directly anymore. He could admit to himself that his second death was pretty pathetic, so it's a sore subject for him. Being caught in your underwear, then snuck up on from behind by a 13-year old assassin is not a fun way to go. So, it's safe to say that Coyote holds onto grudges with a fucking iron fist, and will not stop until the target of his grudge is either dead or suffering so much they wished they were dead.
He's not particularly intelligent, but he does have a knack for picking locks and modifying guns. He enjoys picking the heavy padlocks in particular. He's also very picky about his guns, wanting them to match his tastes, so he mods them like crazy so that they pack a good punch and look pretty doing it even if it sacrifices accuracy due to recoil. Good with his hands, he's probably one of those type of guys that like to spend hours on their car, fixing it up and showing it off. He's not super prideful, but there are things he takes great interest in, and clings to them. Seems to have an affinity for languages, too, as he's fluent in English, Spanish, and bit of Japanese.
Some sources claim he speaks Japanese, but it might just be that the Japanese version has him speaking in a Kansai-ben (South-eastern dialect) to depict his harsh and criminal nature.
Powers/Abilities: He's fairly skilled with a gun (though everyone thinks his aim sucks because of the way he holds his weapon), is an expert lock-picker, and has an almost super-human leaping/jumping ability that allows him to reach rooftops and the like.
Keepsakes/Mementos: He doesn't have too much on him these days, what with being a part of someone's subconscious as an active personae.
- His gun, a modified Enfield revolver
- Vast collection of ugly shirts, and some normal ones too
- Lock picking set
- Beeswax and comb for his hair

Life used to be so goddamn simple. You paid your dues, steal a few things here and there, live off what little shit change you had in your pockets... just life. Sometimes it wasn't so damn simple, but at least the life you had was your own. Coyote sometimes found himself foolishly yearning for those days, to have control over his own life again, but he'd stop himself by berating his current self and saying what the fuck would your past self think, huh? He'd think you're a fucking idiot and proceed to blow your brains out for being a jackass moron and revealing yourself as his future self. Time travelling is a tricky thing, amigo.
He then thinks back not so far, to a time when he'd been shot dead. That motherfucker's smug ass sorry excuse for a mug ripples to the surface of his hazy memories and it's all he can do to keep himself from screaming Dan's name like some anguished and scorned lover. Screaming at what, exactly? The room is dark, if he can even call this place a room at all. It's a mental shelf, a storage space for his personality as he simply waits to be called upon. He's usually asleep during this time though, but the brief moments he does manage to get as he's awoken by some other personality (usually it's Dan) from the other side of the TV is spent brooding and dwelling and it sucks.
It's a vicious cycle, and it's unbearable. When he's finally tagged out, he's practically bursting with energy, killing every Heaven Smile in sight, reveling in the bloodshed and the lack of need for sympathy. These are monsters, weapons of destruction, there is no emotion needed except that of pure unadulterated glee. Even when they enter a dark, spooky-looking elementary school, he's all but bursting with energy. The other psyches seem to feel restless within the subconscious they've been all crammed into as the current personality roams around and fishes for clues. Looks like Garcian is in charge today. Coyote can let that one slide- the guy needed some fucking action once in a while. He's such a stiff, always sitting around complaining about how he's just the cleaner and that everyone's always getting killed too much. That's a joke, though. Garcie rarely complained unless he needed to get a point across. He's good at that, too.
But as they reach a room, a gym, no different from any old gym, Coyote can't help but feel some unease. It's emanating from Garcian, actually, and something forces a different personae out of the collective. The six (including Garcian) wait. Mask shoots, explosions fly, but in the blink of an eye, there's another explosion and Mask is dead. His body doesn't fall to the ground in a bloody lump like usual, however. He's simply gone, and the Heaven Smile that took him down had gone with him. There's a strange empty aching in the air, it's unsettling, and Dan snarls in frustration as he forces himself out. To everyone's surprise (still), the outcome is the same.
Dan is gone, and Coyote feels no joy in it.
It's not fucking fair. After all these years spent waiting and waiting and yearning to blow that bastard's brains out himself-- Coyote finds his anger again, forcing himself out this time. Kaede, Con, Kevin, and Garcian remain silent. He has his gun out and he's staring down five Heaven Smiles, standing in a line. They're pitch black, but their eyes seem to bore into him like lasers, as if steadily burning him down like a sore.
"You wanna fuckin' MESS with my fun, eh!? He was MINE to kill, and if you think your exploding bullshit will get to me? You've thought wrong, fuckers."
He readies his gun in the usual fashion, and the soft, eerie laughter rings true. It's nothing different, there's no special gimmicks... one just walks toward him like usual. No big deal. He can see it clearly and he shoots it square in the forehead.
Nothing.
A bit of panic wells up in his gut as he pulls the trigger faster this time, multiple times- BANG! BANG! BANG!
Reload.
BANG!
Bang!

Mindset:
Coyote will probably remember everything, only because death doesn't come as a shock to him anymore. He's been killed by exploding Heaven Smiles all the time- it comes with the territory, and sometimes he gets a little careless. Can't blame a guy for being trigger happy and excited to fill monsters full of lead. He'll react to Monad as just another place that he has to be for an assignment, whatever that may be, but he'll also notice a distinct sense of freedom and free will. In all honesty, he'll probably fucking LOVE Monad and will never want to leave, no matter how fucked up the system is, even with all the annoying glitches.
If something can top the weird shit he's had to deal with in the real world? He'll give the administrators a goddamn cookie that he baked using the shit from his own asshole.
G̶̶l̨͡i̵͢t̷c͝͠h̕é͠s̷̷͡::
Coyote had been killed by Emir from behind, unable to react properly or go down with a fight. He hates being snuck up on, and will react violently to it. At the very least, he'll punch them. This also was a thing before he'd been killed by Dan or Emir. It's a reflex thing, and being killed by Emir from behind was just the icing on the cake.
He isn't scared of Heaven Smiles per se, but he really, really hates them. They are definitely disturbing to him enough to dispatch of them as quick as possible. Also, getting shot at and bombed is no fun, either. The eerie Heaven Smiles laughs sometimes drive him nuts when there's a lot of them around or when they keep respawning.
Digital locks are also extremely irritating, and what with technology growing and developing in an ever-changing world, they make him feel incompetent. He's only had practice in opening padlocks, door locks, car locks, etc. Anything involving digital codes and whatnot that can't be bypassed with lock-picking tools is the bane of his existence.
